At Bernard Andrews Roofing Ltd, we believe in clear communication, quality workmanship and honest business practices. These Terms and Conditions explain how we work and form part of every quotation and contract unless otherwise agreed in writing.
By accepting our quotation, paying a deposit or signing our Acceptance Form, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions.
Our quotations remain valid for 14 calendar days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated.
All quotations are based upon the visible condition of the property at the time of inspection together with the information provided by the client.
Any work not specifically described within the written quotation is excluded.
A contract is formed once:
No commencement date is guaranteed until these requirements have been satisfied.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
Workmanship guarantees, completion certificates and any applicable Insurance Backed Guarantees will only be issued once payment has been received in full.
Roofing inspections are generally visual only.
Once existing roof coverings are removed, previously hidden defects such as rotten timbers, defective decking, structural movement, defective masonry, asbestos, inadequate ventilation or previous poor workmanship may become apparent.
These items are not included unless specifically stated within the quotation.
Where additional works become necessary we will:
Unless specifically included within our quotation, responsibility for obtaining any necessary:
remains with the client.
Bernard Andrews Roofing Ltd will cooperate with Building Control and other statutory authorities where required as part of the agreed works.
The client agrees to provide safe and reasonable access throughout the duration of the works.
Reasonable access to electricity and water should also be available where required.
Where access is delayed or prevented by the client or a third party, Bernard Andrews Roofing Ltd reserves the right to revise programme dates and recover any reasonable additional costs incurred.
Roofing works are heavily dependent upon suitable weather conditions.
We reserve the right to suspend works whenever weather conditions would make the work unsafe or could compromise the quality of the finished installation.
Such delays shall not constitute a breach of contract.
We use quality roofing materials appropriate to each project.
Should specified materials become unavailable, we reserve the right to substitute equivalent products of equal or higher quality following consultation with the client.
Natural variations in colour, texture and appearance of roofing materials are normal and do not constitute defects.
Unless specifically stated otherwise, our quotation assumes the existing structure is suitable for the proposed works.
We cannot accept responsibility for hidden defects or structural issues that could not reasonably have been identified prior to commencement.
All works are carried out in accordance with current Health & Safety legislation.
Where appropriate, project-specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) will be prepared and followed throughout the works.
Where applicable, workmanship guarantees will be issued following completion of the agreed works and receipt of payment in full.
Guarantees apply only to the work specifically described within the quotation.
Guarantees do not cover:
Where applicable, an Insurance Backed Guarantee may also be available, subject to separate policy terms and conditions.
Should you have any concerns regarding our work, please notify Bernard Andrews Roofing Ltd as soon as reasonably possible.
We ask that any complaint is submitted in writing, together with as much supporting information as reasonably available, including photographs, videos (where appropriate), and a clear description of the issue.
This enables us to properly assess the matter and, where appropriate, arrange an inspection.
The Customer agrees to provide Bernard Andrews Roofing Ltd with a reasonable opportunity to inspect the alleged defect and, where we accept responsibility, to rectify it before instructing another contractor to carry out remedial works, except where immediate emergency action is reasonably necessary to prevent injury or significant damage.
Where another contractor is instructed to alter, remove or replace the works before Bernard Andrews Roofing Ltd has been given a reasonable opportunity to inspect and assess the alleged defect, this may affect our ability to determine the cause of the issue and may limit or invalidate any applicable workmanship guarantee, where permitted by law.
We may take photographs before, during and after the works for surveying, quality control, record keeping, guarantee administration and dispute resolution.
Customer details will never be used for marketing without the client’s permission.
Where applicable, statutory cancellation rights will be provided separately together with the required Notice of Right to Cancel.
Where a client requests work to begin before the statutory cancellation period has expired, a separate written request to commence early will be required.
Bernard Andrews Roofing Ltd will carry out all agreed works using reasonable care and skill.
Nothing within these Terms and Conditions excludes any statutory rights available to consumers.
Our liability is limited to the reasonable cost of repairing defects arising directly from our workmanship where we have been given a reasonable opportunity to inspect and rectify the matter.
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales.
At Bernard Andrews Roofing Ltd, we believe that craftsmanship, honesty and professionalism remain the foundation of good roofing.
Our aim is simple:
